Mafair's latest stream

As we maintain physical distance from one another to inhibit the spread of the Coronavirus, Mafair UMC is committed to finding new ways to worship the Lord together and maintain community.

We have been holding Sunday Worship and daily Bible devotions on Facebook Live. If you don't use Facebook, or you'd prefer to avoid the hassle of finding the correct video, this will be a help to you.

Click here, and you'll find our current livestream (if there's an ongoing broadcast), or the most recent completed livestream. Blessings to you!

Gustav Update

We still need 4 more volunteers to serve breakfast on Thursday morning.  Please email me at or call my cell phone (612-1591) if you can serve.  We are to be at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church at 6:00 AM.

I saw Jim and Gail Hunt, and Tom Price on WCYB helping serve supper last night.  Red Cross classes were taught at our church this morning .  Caty and I took two Operational Training classes; Jeff Weatherall has offered medical services; Libby Dearing and Patricia Downs are volunteering to use their nursing training; Carolyn Kidd is providing computer services at the Red Cross office.  Thanks to Luke Bell for helping us get off to a fast start!

My guess is that this group of evacuees will be with us for another week.  Even though Gustav was not as destructive as first feared there are 3 other storms that are approaching the U.S. mainland.  According to Red Cross rules we cannot donate food or clothing.  Monetary gifts are still the best way to give.

If I have missed answering telephone calls please forgive me.  The use of the website is very efficient.
